I know Legend of Grimrock 1 wasn't turn-based and that was something of an issue for me, despite it being a good game in its own right. A lot of the people who said that Grimrock 1 was too hard probably didn't even consider the fact that sidestepping enemies is a core mechanic of the game. This is especially true in Grimrock 2, since a lot of enemies have 'tricks' to counter this mechanic in small ways.Keep moving back and keep strafing until you reach a large area.
